We inherit more than blood. We inherit unfinished work.
Reverence is a verb
An altar tended once a year is a museum. An altar tended weekly is a relationship.
Three obligations
- Remember the names. Say them aloud.
- Repair what was broken in your generation, not theirs.
- Teach one person what you were given.
The dead do not want your grief. They want your competence.
Continuation is the offering. Everything else is packaging.
